Blogged by Gloria:)

Hello lovlies!
I want to tell you about a fruit I just LOVE. It's name is WATERMELON! Watermelon is so amazing! It’s yummy and nutritious, great for when you’re on a diet, good for your body and on top of that all, it does wonders for your skin depending on how you use it. Watermelon is an excellent source of vitamins A and C, calcium, potassium and antioxidants. This makes it an ideal ingredient for a do-it-yourself (DIY) home facial. I’m going to show you guys how to use watermelon in different ways to improve tour skin whether it be to help acne, moisturize your dry skin, liven up your dull skin, and to prevent anti-aging. I will be showing you four homemade mask will give you a natural skin boost your face needs.

ACNE AND INFLAMATION!

Being a student I always have a problem with acne. Luckily my skin is fairly clear overall but when I do break out (I end to break out a little on my chin area when I’m on my menstrual cycle) a mask always makes my skin feel more clean. Watermelon restores moisture to acne-prone skin and calms inflammation without making your skin oily and breaking out more. To create this mask mix a teaspoon of watermelon juice with a teaspoon of mashed banana and rub it on your face. Leave the mask on for 10 or 15 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

Ingredient info:

Bananas are rich in Vitamin C and it helps make your skin soft, supple and puts a glow on your face! Bananas are also loaded with soothing properties that help in reducing skin inflammation. The peel of banana contains antioxidants and potassium, so just rubbing it on your skin can end up being very helpful as well. It is also helpful in clearing acne.

DRY SKIN!

During summer my face tends to dry out and which leaves me with an itchy and super dry face. This mask will help restore the moisture that the heat sucked out of your skin! Create this hydrating mask by combining two small slices of papaya, half a slice of watermelon, a banana and a tablespoon of milk cream in a bowl to make a paste. Smooth the paste over your face and rinse it off with cold water after 15 to 20 minutes.

Ingredient info:

Papaya is also a great source of Vitamin A on top of that it is also a source of papain. Papain breaks down inactive proteins and removes dead skin cells. It other words it is a gentle exfoliate for your skin.

Milk cream is a great cleanser for the skin. As weird as it sounds it really is true. If you guys want to know how to clean your skin with milk leave me a comment and I’ll write up a post for you guys. Milk will help your skin look healthier, young, soft and silky.

DULL SKIN!

During the summer I tend to stay up later mostly because I’m always talking with other students on social networks and it makes me a bit sleep deprived. A lack of sleep and stress will definitely make your skin look dull and plain for a lack of better words. Teehee Luckily, this mask has super healing and hydrating qualities thanks to the combo of watermelon and Greek yogurt which contains lactic acids to help restore your skin and its natural glow. Create this mask by apply a teaspoon of watermelon juice mixed with a teaspoon of Greek yogurt to your face, allow it to sit for at least 10 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water.

Ingredient Info:

Greek yogurt is a great source of lactic acid and enzymes which help hydrate and soothe the skin making it soft and smooth. It can be used as a sunburn remedy because it soothes the pain and improves redness. If you apply it to the scalp it can relieve itchiness and improve dandruff.

Another mask idea! Combine the yogurt with honey and lemon juice. It makes a a moisturizing and exfoliating mask! It is great for softening the face and neck and minimizing discoloration.

ANTI-AGING!

I always want to erase new lines and wrinkles whenever I find any. You can fight these pesky aging signs by using this watermelon mask. You can make this mask by combining watermelon juice with avocado. This mask will be full of antioxidants that will help make your skin look more youthful look. Create this mask by mashing a teaspoon of avocado. Combine it with a teaspoon of watermelon juice and apply it to your face for about 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water to remove the mask.

Ingredient Info:

Avocado is an amazing source of vitamin A, B, D and E. Avocado contains about 60% more potassium than a banana does. Therefore, skin care products infused with avocado penetrate the skin evenly and quickly. This will make your skin more smooth and moisturized.
